Apple has officially launched the iPhone Air, its lightest and thinnest iPhone yet. It is a major departure from the design language of the last several iPhone models. Unlike the last generations that basically all look the same apart from the color, the iPhone Air is immediately recognizable as a different, new device.
Designed with aerospace-grade titanium and weighing just 138 grams, the iPhone Air is 20% lighter and 32% thinner than the iPhone 15 Pro. Powered by the A18 Pro chip, it delivers desktop-level performance for mobile workflows, AI processing, and real-time data tasks.
Key Specs:
- Display: 6.1" edge-to-edge OLED, 120Hz ProMotion
- Processor: A18 Pro (3nm architecture)
- Battery Life: Up to 22 hours of video playback
- Camera System: Dual-lens 48MP with LiDAR
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6E, 5G Ultra-Wideband, Satellite
- Security: Face ID, onboard Secure Enclave
It remains to be seen if battery life is as promised, or if there will be another fundamental problem like the Antennagate controversy of the iPhone 4. But at least from the early review, this revolution looks like a winner.
Bottom line: If you've been looking for a reason to upgrade your iPhone, the iPhone Air may give you enough motivation to pull the trigger.
