Corporate outings are supposed to be fun and bring your office closer together. There is also a lot of other potential benefits to an outing – fitness, bonding, brand recognition, break in health insurance premiums, etc. Depending on the type of outing you choose, you can achieve a number of different goals.

If getting involved with your community is a goal, look at community service and volunteer work or attending a local event. If fitness is an office goal, try a bike/run/walk race.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Tour de Menlo – Although it is happening soon (August 19th), a bike ride in the Menlo Park area sponsored by the Rotary Club of Menlo Park Foundation and the Almanac is a great way to get involved and exercise.
  • SF Giant Race - Does your office have a lot of Giants fans? Why not do the Giants Race on August 27th.
  • Color Run – Can’t make it to either of the two events above because they are happening this month? Color runs are always a lot of fun and this one isn’t happening until October.
  • Looking for a volunteer or community service activity? Check out these sites that can help you find the correct opportunity for your team:

Try out a race or community service activity in the next couple months and give your office something new to do together!
