Eleven years ago, an EdTech startup client of ours moved into a newly-renovated space on 2nd Street in SoMa, San Francisco. We designed and built our usual network infrastructure for them, including Cisco Meraki equipment and new high quality network cabling. That client grew quickly to become a Unicorn, and we helped them move several more times as they grew.

That would have been the end of the story except last month a VC client called us and said they were moving into a new (to them) space and needed a network, Zoom Rooms, etc. The address sounded familiar, and when we went onsite to do the site survey, we found the network cabling we installed eleven years previously still installed and working well! We tested it of course, and it still passes the Gigabit speed certification, so we’ll be re-using it again for our client moving in.

We always try to build reliable, high performance, durable networks for our clients, and this was a great example of why that is important. 11 years on and the network is still working well and is ready to serve a new resident!
